Barcelona club star striker Lionel Messi became the world’s best footballer in a ceremony held in Paris. He claimed Ballon d’Or Award for the 6th time, whereas American player Megan Repinoe won the women’s award. She got this award for the second time.
Messi won his first award 10 years ago, at that time he was just 22 years old. He had previously won the Ballon d’Or Award in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015. With this he left behind Cristiano Ronaldo who had won this award 5 times. Recently while playing 700th match for his club Barcelona, Messi scored goal against 34th different which is a record in itself.
