The World famous Kalka-Shimla Railway track is going to become more special. The Indian Railways is going to run a special type of toy train on this route. Its specialty will be its see-through coaches which will enable passages to enjoy the outside view from all three directions and is named Vistadome.
This train is probably scheduled to run from December 25, as a Christmas and New Year gift to tourists. This Vistadome coach train has been approved by the Railways for one year. It had taken 100 days and expenditure of almost 10 Lakh in completion of Vistadome train. This track was started at the time of British rule in India and the Kalka-Shimla railway line service started in the year 1903.
Vistadome Train Speciality :
Vistadome Train will consist of 7 coaches with see-through mirror walls in three directions. According to the information, it will run till 24 December 2020. Coaches are designed with revolving seats and A/c facility. Earlier, the toilet facility was not available in its coaches but now western toilets are fitted in it. Also, phone and laptop charging facility has also been kept for passengers.
Vistadome timings:
Vistadome Train will run from 7 am from Kalka to Shimla and it will run from Shimla to Kalka at 3:15 pm. It was built a long ago but now it has been approved to run. This train will make tourists take a close tour of the beautiful plains of Himachal.
